It's the end of 2007, and everyone's looking both forward to the 2008 ski/snowboard skiing while taking a look back at the last year of fun in the snow. Which places rocked and which bombed? Which trails you had to do ten times to perfect and which you wouldn't dare go near? Take a look at Condé Nast Traveler's Top 20 North American Resorts for 2007 and see if your top resorts made the cut. You may be surprised what made the list and what didn't.
How'd this list come to be? 2,308 Condé Nast Traveler readers were asked to evaluate 109 North American ski resorts and 235 ski hotels that they had visited in the past three years. Resorts were rated on the criteria of Terrain and Conditions, Lifts and Lines, Town Ambience, Dining, and Après-Ski/Activities. Criterion scores, which represent the percentage of respondents rating a resort or hotel excellent or very good, were averaged to determine the final score.
And without further ado:
| 1 - Whistler Blackcomb, British Columbia | 88.5 |
| 2 - Aspen, Colorado | 87.9 |
| 3 - Deer Valley, Utah | 85.5 |
| 4 - Whiteface Mountain, New York | 82.8 |
| 5 - Park City, Utah | 82.2 |
| 6 - Telluride, Colorado | 81.5 |
| 7 - Vail, Colorado | 81 |
